Notes on my song "If Only Kilroy Were Still Here". This song was written out of frustration and dismay over what is happening in America today. "Kilroy Was Here" was a slogan and drawing that appeared wherever US troops were fighting in WW2. It became a symbol of "The Greatest Generation".

Hitler actually though Kilroy was a spy. Stalin supposedly saw it in a public restroom in Europe after the war and asked about it.
It is a scary time in our country today. Nikita Khrushchev in his famous shoe banging incident at the UN claimed, "We will bury you!" It was later clarified that he meant America would fall from within. I also quoted a line often attributed to Vladimir Lenin, "A lie told often enough becomes truth." I have never witnessed such stupidity in my lifetime as is what is going on in America today. What would our grandparents think of all of this? If Only Kilroy were still here.

If Only Kilroy Was Still Here

Rock "N Roll Days

Most people see me musically as a singer/songwriter. While true, there is another side to my music; my rock 'n roll side. Regrettably I have almost always worked alone for reasons I don't really fully understand. I would have and still would love to be part of a band.

Oh well, so I make do.
These songs show yet another musical side of me. They were recorded on analog multi track cassette from 1981-1991. They are loud, primitive and raw and I make no apologies for this. Though I never got to perform most of these songs live, I gave them all the energy that I give my onstage performances. And, I got to play a lot of lead guitar too. The cover is a photo of the notorious and now defunct Luke's Bar in Missoula, Montana where a played many a gig in the early 1980's.
I hope that you will give them a listen and find in them something of worth.
